Dandalin Siyasa : UPDATE

Its been long that the Management Committee of dandalinsiyasa@yahoogroups.com has its meeting due to political activities of 2011 elections in the country. All the same, on behalf of the Management I wish to congratulate our members that in one way or the other participated in the 2011 elections either as observers or in the wining or loosing side as they all contributed their quota to the growth of democratic governance in our country. I will also use this opportunity to welcome new members on board , and I believe many have enjoyed their stay which is manifested by rate of participation of members in discussions , and the zeal many have showed in advising ways to make dandalin siyasa more greater to make positive contributions to development of our country. Dandalin Siyasa forum is open to all Nigerians in respective of political , social, economic and religious affiliations of members, we are all partners in the business of strengthening our democratic norms and providing suggestions for our country’s development in all aspects. The forum started as initiative of a single individual which is the first of its kind in Northern part of Nigeria and has today been able to provide us with a platform of a unique innovation in discussion forums in Nigeria. We have been able to achieve a lot in the last three years of Dandalin Siyasa existence. The forum had it first year anniversary in Kano (2009), Second anniversary in Kaduna (2010) and hopefully its third year anniversary to hold in Sokoto later in the year. It has become a norm that during every anniversary event , some of our members are honoured with awards for their outstanding performance in the forum , so far six of our members received the awards in the past two years. We are also able to register an NGO (DANDALI FOUNDATION) with CAC to enable us perform our functions in the larger society according to the laws of the land. Plans are in top gear to launch DANDALI FOUNDATION as soon as possible. I will suggest to the house (forum) on the need for us to have an extra –ordinary meeting or get-together so that old and new members can come together face to face to strengthen friendship and exchange ideas as we do daily in the forum. Once again , we welcome all new members to our great forum and hope they will contribute positively in whatever way for the growth of dandalin-siyasa@yahoogroups.com and Dandali Foundation. Dandalin Siyasa Social Get Together

Dandalin Siyasa Online Discussion Forum held a Social Get Together at Tiga Dam on 25th June 2011. According to Chairman of the forum Pharm Hashim Ubale Yusufu, the get together is for new and old members of the forum to socialize, interract and to falicitate with members that are are appointed into political offices and those that won elections. Among prominent members that the forum rejoice with are Alhaji Ibrahim Wakkala elected as Deputy Governor of Zamfara state and Alhaji Umar Said Tudun Wada appointed as Director of Press to Kano State Governor. Dandalin Siyasa Online forum was founded by Shehu Mustapha Chaji on March 19, 2009. The forum held it first ever anniversary in Kano and the second annioversary in Kaduna State. Hopefully before the end of the year the third anniversary event will take place in Sokoto state. Members of the forum allover the country and abroad attended the event.

THE RISE OF DANDALIN SIYASA ONLINE FORUM (1)

Dandalin siyasa is an online discussion forum that was established and moderated by my close friend, Mustapha Shehu Chaji. Chaji was our former secretary general of Bayero University Kano, Students union government to match theory with practical as he read Bsc in political science. Chaji is a committed writer, activist and young revolutionaries. Dandalin siyasa is a forum for gavel-to-gavel discussions on political developments in Nigeria, Africa’s largest democracy. Recently some of the active members of the dandali were opportune to accomplish success in their areas, hence the need to write and congratulate them and to graciously give kudos to the dandali and its members. The corner stone of our online forum is the mutual respect for people’s views, though freedom of expression is inherent in our dandali, views and opposition views expressed in the forum are the rights of individual contributors. The active members of dandali are to many to mention, but a few, like my humble self, then the moderator or simply ‘madugun dandali’’, shehu chaji, who got a job recently after he completed his masters degree program in Developmental studies at his Alma Mata. Congratulations to the General John Danfulani, for successfully becoming a Phd holder. Danfulani was the former president students union, A.B.U. Zaria, a prolific scholar and analyst. Ghali Rogo is another active member worthy of mention. He would be going to England to pursue a course on security detectives’ equipment course at Stafford University London. The newly elected governor of Kano state, Rabi’u Kwankwaso made some appointments recently. Luckily for our dandali, about three of our active members were among. Dr. Inusa Dangwani is one of us, and he was the new chief of staff to Kano government house. Then the director press in person of Mallam Umar Said Tudunwada, popularly known as UST. He was the former General Manager Freedom radio Kano and deputy director press to Kwankwaso’s first tenure. Therefore his appointment did not come to many of us as a surprise; his track record is exceptional and highly impressive. I am wishing them a very meritorious tenure of service to their beloved state. I am very proud of dandalin siyasa online forum, and that is why I don’t mind if my views were not published in our dailies in as much as it was posted in dandali. Dandalin Siyasa was created on March 19, 2008 by Shehu Mustapha Chaji, with the aim of providing a forum that mostly Nigerians from Northern part of the country can discuss and debate on issues relating to politics. And to also provide them with a forum that they can express their views and opiniions in matters relating to promotion of democracy in Nigeria, Africa and the world over.
